MU LogoMothers’ Union members were delighted when three women from the Church of the Sweden responded to our invitation to visit the Diocese. The visit included participating in our Autumn Council at the Church of the Holy Name, Cumbernauld, on Saturday 3rd October.During their time in Glasgow, Katarina Evenseth, Britta Olinder and Kristina Magdesjö worshipped at St James the Less Bishopbriggs and St Mary’s Cathedral for Evensong.   Our friends also visited the Art Gallery, Glasgow Cathedral, Provand’s Lordship, the Museum of Religion and had a tour of Glasgow. Our Swedish friends were joined by twelve MU members on a trip to Iona over three days.

IonaMothers’ Union members have enjoyed warm and generous hospitality from the Women of the Church of Sweden since the Porvoo link was established. This year members were delighted to again extend the hand of friendship. The visit was a delight for us all.   The joy of worshipping twice daily alongside Associates of the Iona Community in the Abbey, the joy of experiencing the glories of God’s creation on pilgrimages, absorbing the glorious views and the blessings of the warmth of the sun and the wonderful fellowship.
