The Missional Leadership Development Team’s remit includes encouraging congregations in ways of leading that are outward-looking, community-serving and kingdom-building. We therefore extend a warm invitation to clergy and anyone involved in church leadership (such as vestry members) to come along to a day session on leadership run by the Pointman Leadership Institute at St Ninian’s Prestwick on Friday 19th February. Lunch is provided and the day runs from approximately 10 am to 4 pm.

Leadership Training 2016

The Pointman Leadership Institute has been giving ethical Leadership Seminars in the UK and
overseas for the past 20 years to Parliaments, Governments, Police and Armed Forces in over 70
countries as well as other organisations such as the Church of England and the Methodist Church.
The first part of the seminar looks at the individual Leader’s Character and how important this is
to be an effective Leader. The second part concentrates on how those in leadership within a church
can take everyone forward by developing an envisioned future.

The Seminar will be presented by:-
Richard Wiggins
Richard served with Hertfordshire Constabulary for 31 years before retiring and taking a civilian
post with the Metropolitan Police for 8 years. He retired with his wife June back to Prestwick in
2013. He has been an Instructor with Pointman for 15 years leading seminars in over 15 countries
and has recently done so in Liberia & Chad.
Neil Collin
Neil served with the Northumberland and Metropolitan Police for 30 years before retiring back to
his native North East with his wife Fiona where she is an Anglican vicar in Sunderland. Neil has been
an Instructor with Pointman for six years and has recently returned from delivering training in
Cameroon.
Chris Weigold
Chris is a qualified teacher (accredited through the Institute for Learning), trainer, mentor and
coach with a wide experience of delivering multi-agency training programmes in the UK and
abroad. With a varied career stretching over 3 decades so far, Chris’s knowledge of the concepts,
theories and practical application of leadership are drawn from his service across the military,
business, voluntary and public sectors. Chris is married and lives in Somerset and been a
Pointman Instructor for fourteen years.
