The St Martin-in-the-Fields Radio 4 Christmas Appeal raises money for the Vicars Relief Fund (VRF) which supports vulnerable individuals facing homelessness. The VRF is a crisis fund and is used when all other help has been exhausted.
The aim of the fund is to prevent homelessness, by helping to pay rent to maintain tenancy or achieve tenancy, remove the threat of eviction and can be used to make tenancy possible by the purchase of specific white goods e.g. cooker or fridge.
Clergy apply on behalf of individuals facing homelessness who are in urgent need. Successful applications receive a maximum of £250 and, given the urgency of situations awards are made within 1-3 days.
Guidance notes and Grant Application forms are available on the Development Team for Imaginative Outreach into Local Communities (IOILC) Webpage at www.glasgow.anglican.org/resources/development-teams/development-team-for-imaginative-outreach-into-local-communities/grant-application-forms
