My Dear Friends in Glasgow and Galloway,
Following the meeting of the Electoral Synod at Holy Trinity and St Barnabas, Paisley, the Preparatory Committee met and finalised the dates for the work they are undertaking.
The process will move forward with an Advert asking for nominations to be sent to the Primus by 26th November, this advert will appear on the Diocesan Website, The Provincial Website and the website and paper copy of the Church Times. The preparatory committee will then meet in Glasgow on the 1st of December to review the applications received and to move to the next stage of the process.
I would like to remind everyone in the Diocese that you are all permitted to nominate someone, the nomination requires to be signed by the person nominating as well as by the person nominated. Please note that nomination does not mean the person will be called to interview, so please keep the nomination confidential so that the person you may consider to be a possible Bishop is protected, at this stage, from the gaze of the wider church. (This should be notified through the weekly notices at each congregation.)
