Mothering Sunday is coming soon and is a time we think of our mothers and all they have done for us. It is a wonderful celebration but many people find Mothering Sunday extremely difficult, particularly if their mother is no longer with them. The Mothers’ Union ‘Make a Mothers’ Day’ initiative raises funds and awareness of the work of the Mothers’ Union with an ethical gift catalogue. One can order a beautiful designed card for your mum or anyone you would like to send one to. For those who have lost their mum an ‘in memory’ card is sent to you which you can keep or you can have your loved ones name put in the rememberance book displayed in the Mothers’ Union chapel. This is the 10th anniversary of its inception and 140th year of the start of the Mothers’ Union by our founder Mary Sumner. Whether it is £6 to help a person take part in a Bible study course in Uganda or £100 to help establish a self help group in the church your donation will make a difference.. To date thousands of lives have been transformed – so the message is that this is a Mothering Sunday gift that truly makes a difference.
If you would like to take part in this, you would need to get your order in by 24th February so there is time for posting.
Catalogues are available by contacting new diocesan president Jill Cameron at jillcameron@gmail.com or on line www.makeamothersday.org or from www.themothersunion.org or www.muscotland.org
