Before: Christmas 2016 in St Matthew’s

The Dry Rot discovered at St Matthew’s Possilpark is more extensive than at first thought and the estimates for repair now exceed £35,000 before redecoration. However, the small congregation is planning a different fundraising activity each month this year and we have been strengthened by real ecumenical sharing – our local RC Church gave us a cheque for £500 at the weekend. Just when we were progressing with preparations to fund a development worker for St. Matthew’s Centre, energy has to be re-directed.

The church part of our building is now closed, which makes for interesting compromises – Sunday Lent 1, as we heard in Genesis about the Garden of Eden, we had to share the Hall with the central Scotland Permaculture Course!
